Description
Pennington Cemetery is a public burial ground in West Lancaster Township, Keokuk County, Iowa, about four miles south of Sigourney along Iowa Highway 149.
A deed recorded in 1864 conveyed approximately five acres for use as a public burial ground.
County records describe township-funded maintenance, a graveled internal drive, evergreen trees, and a small chapel.
It is the only cemetery listed in West Lancaster Township.
