Description
Our Lady of Victory Convent Cemetery is a private cemetery on the former Our Lady of Victory Convent campus in Lemont, Cook County, Illinois. Established in 1967, it served as the burial ground for members of the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago. The convent campus developed after the congregation purchased the Walker estate in 1926; a new convent opened there in 1936 as a home for retired and infirm Sisters. ([chicagofranciscans.org](https://www.chicagofranciscans.org/olv-convent-grounds-lemont-grotto?utm_source=openai)) The congregation has announced plans to transfer the Sisters buried there to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip under Catholic cemetery supervision, so burial or visitation inquiries should be directed to the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago or the receiving cemetery.
