Description

Olney Cemetery is located at 865 Tutuilla Road in southwest Pendleton, Umatilla County, Oregon, and is operated by the City of Pendleton. ([pendletonor.gov](https://www.pendletonor.gov/parksrec/page/olney-cemetery?utm_source=openai)) The cemetery opened on June 10, 1891, on land deeded by Stephen Olney after Pioneer Cemetery, north of the Umatilla River, was deemed unsuitable for continued use; many burials from that earlier site were moved here. ([pendletonor.gov](https://www.pendletonor.gov/print/pdf/node/16001?utm_source=openai)) Covering approximately 50 acres, it is listed by the State of Oregon as a historic cemetery. ([pendletonor.gov](https://www.pendletonor.gov/parksrec/page/olney-cemetery?utm_source=openai)) Olney Abbey Mausoleum was constructed in 1918, expanded in 1920, and completed with a final addition in 1964. ([pendletonor.gov](https://www.pendletonor.gov/print/pdf/node/16001?utm_source=openai)) The grounds also include a tree-canopied street and host the Veterans of Foreign Wars Avenue of Flags ceremony on Memorial Day. ([pendletonor.gov](https://www.pendletonor.gov/print/pdf/node/16001?utm_source=openai)) The city provides cemetery maps, pricing, arrangement information, and a digital grave-search tool for locating interments.
