Description

Olio Township Cemetery is located in Eureka, Woodford County, Illinois. The cemetery originated in 1848 as a burial ground for the local Christian Church. After the congregation moved to a new site, the grounds came under the jurisdiction of the City of Eureka. In 1905, a township cemetery organization was established and additional land was purchased; in 1906, title to the original cemetery was transferred to the township by the city and the heirs of Ben Major. The cemetery has since been administered by the township trustees. Online grave indexes can assist with genealogical research, but older or incomplete entries should be verified through township or county records.
