Description
North Farmington Cemetery is a privately owned cemetery on Farmington Road in Farmington Hills, Oakland County, Michigan. Its governing Association for Cemetery and Burial Purposes began on September 20, 1838, after land was donated by the William L. Coonley family. The cemetery remains an active burial place and is identified by the city as Historic Site 920, although it is not part of Farmington Hills’ local historic district. A historical marker notes burials representing every United States war, including Revolutionary War soldier Levi Green and veterans of the War of 1812, Civil War, Spanish-American War, World Wars I and II, Korea, and Vietnam. The cemetery appears in Oakland County historical cemetery indexes, which can assist with genealogical and burial research.
