Description
Mount Jerome Cemetery in Dublin, Ireland, was established in 1836 by the General Cemetery Company of Dublin on land originally part of the Reverend Stephen Jerome's estate. The first burial was that of infant twins in September 1836. Initially spanning 26 acres, the cemetery expanded to 48 acres by 1874. Notable for its Funerary Chapel, the first Puginian Gothic church in Dublin, it faced decline in the 1980s due to reduced burials. In 2000, a crematorium was added, revitalizing the cemetery's operations.
