Description
Lucasville Cemetery is located in Lucasville, Valley Township, Scioto County, Ohio. It began as the Lucas family burial ground, with Susannah Lucas identified as the first recorded burial in 1809. The grounds were converted to public use in 1816 and later expanded as the community developed. John Lucas, who founded Lucasville in 1819, is buried here, and the cemetery includes veterans from the Revolutionary War through the Vietnam War. Historical accounts also note that graves from the former Lucasville Methodist Church Cemetery were moved here during an expansion. Burial information is available through local cemetery transcriptions and genealogical records, although visitors should confirm current access and record availability locally.
