Groton Cemetery – Middlesex County – United States

Groton Cemetery is located on Hollis Street at the junction with Longley Road, off Chicopee Row, in Groton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.

Founded in 1847, it was designed in the rural cemetery tradition popularized by the nineteenth-century Garden Cemetery movement.

The grounds originally covered 11 acres and now encompass about 54 acres after later land additions.

The Groton Cemetery Association, governed by 12 trustees, manages its operations and landscape; the cemetery includes curving paths, ornamental monuments, and a wrought-iron entrance gate.
