Description

Conway Cemetery is a historic cemetery and state historic site near Walnut Hill in southwestern Lafayette County, about two miles west of Bradley, Arkansas. The 11.5-acre site includes a half-acre family burial plot on the former Walnut Hill plantation grounds, with the earliest graves dating to 1845. It is the final resting place of James Sevier Conway, Arkansas’s first governor, as well as his wife, Mary Jane Bradley Conway, and other Conway and Bradley family members. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977, the site has been owned and maintained by the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism since 1984.
