Description

Bern Cemetery is located in Bern, Bear Lake County, Idaho. Bern was settled in August 1873 by John Kunz II, and the community developed around Swiss immigrant families associated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. ([smithharper.org](https://smithharper.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/History-of-Bern-Idaho.pdf?utm_source=openai)) The cemetery reflects that longstanding rural community, with documented interments reaching from the late nineteenth century through the twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. A current genealogical index links more than 200 people to the cemetery, including members of the Alleman, Bienz, Buehler, Buhler, Kunz and related local families.
