Description

Elmwood Cemetery is located at 922 State Route 9W in the Town of Bethlehem, Albany County, just south of Glenmont and commonly identified as Bethlehem Rural Cemetery. Its earliest records date from 1860, when the cemetery was established after the original burial ground of the First Reformed Church of Bethlehem neared capacity. Early burials from that churchyard were transferred to the site, and family plots preserve names associated with Bethlehem’s local history. The cemetery is a nondenominational Protestant graveyard governed by the Bethlehem Rural Cemetery Association. It remains an active cemetery open to the public, with the entrance on the east side of Route 9W near Church Road. Cemetery inquiries may be directed to the association at P.O. Box 402, Selkirk, New York 12158. ([bethlehemelmwoodcemetery.com](https://bethlehemelmwoodcemetery.com/?utm_source=openai))
