Description

Green Hills Cemetery is located on Highland Drive in the Village of Dryden, within the Town of Dryden, Tompkins County, New York. A cemetery association was organized in 1863 to establish a permanent burial ground for the village, and the cemetery was described in the late nineteenth century as occupying nearly 50 acres on elevated ground southwest of the village center. ([ldsgenealogy.com](https://ldsgenealogy.com/NY/books/The-centennial-history-of-the-town-of-Dryden-1797-1897-part-12.htm?utm_source=openai)) Current county assessment records identify Green Hills Cemetery Association as the owner and list the property at 31.91 acres. ([tompkinscountyny.gov](https://www.tompkinscountyny.gov/files/assets/county/v/1/assessment/dryden.pdf?utm_source=openai)) The cemetery remains active and has received public services through an agreement with the Village of Dryden.
