Description
Fairview Cemetery is located at 601 Hellam Street in Wrightsville, York County, Pennsylvania. It is operated in perpetuity by the Wrightsville Cemetery Association, a charitable nonprofit managed by a volunteer board. The association was organized on September 5, 1870, under the leadership of Dr. John Thomson, and the cemetery was formally named Fairview on December 23 of that year. The original grounds covered about three acres and included sections A through D; additional land purchased in 1902, 1918, and later from the Deiter Farm brought the cemetery to approximately fourteen acres. Some graves from Wrightsville’s older Union Cemetery were moved and reinterred here after Fairview opened. Burial-record searches, lot information, and current regulations are available through the cemetery association, which lists a superintendent’s telephone number for inquiries.
