Description

Clarkstown Reformed Church Cemetery is on Germonds Road in West Nyack, Rockland County, New York, beside the site of the congregation’s original church. The associated Reformed congregation was organized in 1749 as the Low Dutch Christian Reformed Church of New Hempstead, and a church building was erected on Germonds Road in 1752. ([rocklandgenealogy.org](https://rocklandgenealogy.org/rcchurches.htm?utm_source=openai)) Burials documented at the cemetery date from 1703 through 1922, with approximately 275 graves. The grounds include the remains of 23 Revolutionary War veterans and 18 veterans of the War of 1812, along with many families connected to the area’s early Dutch settlement. ([rocklandgenealogy.org](https://rocklandgenealogy.org/cemetery_intro.htm?utm_source=openai)) A bronze tablet mounted on a monument made from the original church threshold identifies the historic church site. The cemetery is described as being in limited current use, and church, death, burial and gravestone records may assist genealogical research.
