Description

Washtenong Memorial Park and Mausoleum is located at 3771 Whitmore Lake Road in Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Michigan. The cemetery was designed by Olmsted Brothers, who were commissioned in 1929 to plan a site of more than forty acres north of the Barton Hills subdivision. Its 1931 general plan used curving roads that follow the natural topography, with a central axis connecting the chapel, fountain and service area; planting plans from the Olmsted firm were still being followed in the late 1950s. The grounds include burial sections, family lots, mausoleum spaces and cremation memorialization options. A separate Jewish burial area is maintained for Temple Beth Emeth, and the cemetery is also documented in local genealogical resources as having an office for burial inquiries. The cemetery currently provides burial and memorialization services, with office hours and contact information available through its official website.
