Carrowmore Megalithic Cemetery - Carrowmore - Sligo - Ireland

Carrowmore Megalithic Cemetery, located near Sligo town on the Cúil Íorra Peninsula, is the oldest and densest concentration of Neolithic tombs in Ireland. The site, part of the ‘Passage Tomb Landscape of County Sligo,’ has been included on Ireland's Tentative List of World Heritage Sites. It features over 35 passage tombs, built nearly 6,000 years ago. A restored cottage at the site offers an exhibition to enhance your visit. Visitors are advised to wear appropriate footwear for walking along the grass paths.
